Sustainability
It is close to our hearts as St. Elisabeth's Kindergarten to teach the children a responsible and mindful approach to our world. For us, it is very important to teach them to treat people, animals and nature with respect.
For us, this includes a resource-conserving behavior and the example of an attitude that makes it clear that every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference. We want to support the children in becoming responsible, reflective and informed adults.
This can be found in many areas of our everyday life and many projects are also aimed precisely at this.
Here are a few examples:
- Making different natural conditions tangible for humans and animals (e.g. flower meadow for insects, natural environment...).
- Grow fruits, vegetables and herbs, take care of them, watch them grow, harvest them and prepare them.
- use nature as an inspiration and resource for sensory experiences and our creativity
- be mindful of the consumption of animal foods (in moderation and consciously)
- treat other living creatures with respect, leaving them their space and feeding the animals in winter, for example
- regularly going out into the fresh air (outdoor area, excursions into nature...)
That's why we want to set out on the path to be awarded the title of "Sustainable Daycare Center".
